One of my Chameleons has been in shed for a few days and now looks like a bad wallpaper removal job. I can see that the skin has seperated and is hanging from her in places. Is that fairly normal? Do chameleons not make much of an effort to actually rub it off or otherwise remove it? Is there anything I can provide that will help her out? My snakes rub thier heads on a bit of wood or a rock then the whole thing comes off inside out which obviously isn't the case with chameleons so I wondered what usually happens.....

a warm misting or shower can help lossen the skin, my guys useually rub the skin off on plants and vines.

Thanks :) Is it a bad thing to gently apply a little help? Oh and is there the same issue with the tail as there is with snakes? You need to be watchful of the very tip because if it doesn't come away it can cut off the blood supply eventually. Any things like that to watch for?

i dont help it at all but my one guy camo likes to weave himself through my fingers when hes is shedding, he get alot of skin off then lol. i do watch for areas of retrained shed esspecially around limbs or tails and esspecially in babies or tiny ones.
if you find a pc that just wont come off or you are worried about, i have on occasion used a shot Qtip with a little mineral oil on it, and rubbed the shed off. ( very carefully )
