Furcifer Verrucosus

We keep them the same as our veileds. Also, they do GREAT outside! We kept them outside almost all summer last year with an auto mister into the low 100's and they grew like crazy.

Thank you both for your replies!

That is fantastic news that they are kept similar to veileds. I have most experience with my female veiled and panthers. I am so so so close to getting my hands on a few spinys and carpets that were WC but I don't have to do the CITES paperwork. I'm going to be working with my brother in law breeding but I'm taking one of them home with me. :D Hoping all goes well!

Thanks again guys

I've wanted to a have a pair of oustalets or verrucosus some day. They are,,, tight!
Looking at the pic of a male verrucosus on the TikiTiki website and the link posted earlier detailing the species, I can't be sure of a few things.

First,(of two)

Check out Neils Pedersens site. He has got some good pictures of some of the varieties or color phases of Verrucosus that are out there, even the subspecies.

The Standard, Blue headed and the Red headed Verrucosus.

This website gives the locale "Morondava" and states:
"This variant comes from Morondava, northeast of Madagascar in the State of Toliara. The basic color is green / turquoise with yellow and blue markings."

But:confused:
when I google Toliara or Morondava these locations are NEITHER north or east ON the island of Madagascar. Input?

Also, I am about to ask what locale Chad's verrucosus male and female are, the male looks like a Morondava but I don't really have a clue.

A personal note: when was reading the details of this species in a Bartlett Cham book I own a while back, it described the coloring as the least colorful of the Madagascar species in the caption of a picture on the page. This was before or right when I got my first ever cham(Panther) and it seemed odd, even at that time, to say about a chameleon(is there such thing as an unDETAILED or "pretty" or "colorful" chameleon if you look long and close enough???)

It still seems odd to say in a book..and it makes me want one of these tight species even more!

Cheers!

Ok wow, Im not going to lie. That just might be the coolest colored cham I have ever seen. Something about it just screams awesome.
