Furcifer pardalis and their colors

Any updates on scientists bringing to light why Furcifer pardalis display the colors that they do?


Maybe Panther chameleons display bright colors so they have less predators?

Bright colors to some animals means they're toxic?


Maybe some predators remembered not to eat the blue bugs or something toxic, so Nosy Be chameleons evolved to show more blue?

I can think of this allll day lol, it's driving me insane haha.. But in a fun way!
