For those who sew

I have quite a collection of cat fabric and thought maybe I should see if there’s any with chameleons. I was not disappointed! Although I’ve never really quilted before, thinking that this might be a good start. The fabric is also available on it’s own too, but you may need to search around for it. @Klyde O'Scope maybe your wife needs a new project?

BWAHAHAHAHA! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
We're retired. Like a lot of our ilk, we have enough projects for 8 lifetimes!

But it's a dynamic queue....
Not retired and I’ve already got too many projects lined up…but I think I need to add this one to my list. My carpal tunnel makes sewing a bit of a challenge (along with everything else), but this would be more fun than organizing the closets.

I found the fabric: https://www.quiltedtwins.com/shop/F...ameleon-Quilt-Panel-by-Quilting-Treasures.htm
This one's a bit busier. I forgot to check if they're from the same designer/mill.

Is that like... more fun than a root canal?

Have you been searching many designs out there?
This one looks kinda like what you posted

but it looks to me more like a print than a quilt. Here's another.
https://gansbedding.com/p/chameleon-3d-quilt-blanket/ and another.

Doing a real quilt of chameleons escaping their frames could be fun.

I like this one too. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/9e/b8/36/9eb836f0ed1c5627ef5c4e421aefa89f.jpg
Can't tell how the chameleon was done (pieced?) except that it appears to be trapunto.

If we took up a project, it would have to be an original design. Maybe an Escheresque tessellation of chameleons instead of generic lizards... Maybe a crazy quilt with banded chameleons at the corners instead of fans...

Wow! I love all of those! Now I would have to retire and guzzle coffee by the gallon to make all the ones I like. o_O
As I’ve only ever sewn clothing (& lack some creativity) I think my introduction to quilting should be in a kit with instructions of what goes where. I’ve run into the problem with my collection of cat fabrics that I just can’t figure out what will go well with what. I don’t think my Laurel Burch cats will match very well with my Dan Morris cats and none will match with the random prints. Just about all are now out of print, so getting the complimentary fabrics for any would be very expensive…if I could even find any.
The quilt I posted is only $50 on Etsy, so I think I’ll be getting it and see if my sewing skills are up to the task.

That’s gorgeous!!

Yes, and I broke down and have the kit on it’s way. 😁
If you're new to quilting, kits are a good way to start & learn.
In-person classes are another good way. Local quilting clubs/circles... Books...

There are godzillions of vids, but it's harder to ask questions and be shown stuff.
There's a lot to be said for the personal touch of a hands-on class (not to mention a little socializing).
