Food Booboo!

I've made a Chameleon newbie keeper feeding mistake and I'm not really sure how serious it is or the best thing to do about it, any advice, much appreciated!

I have had my Panther Chameleon a month or so and have been feeding him mostly black and brown crickets and small locusts and have had a box of wax worms for treats.

My fault entirely but I didn't tell my girlfriend that the wax worms were only for the odd occasion and didn't know that she had been feeding him four or five throughout the day for the last few days because she doesn't like touching the crickets...

Of course now, he won't touch anything but the wax worms, he just turns his nose up, but he will actually run to the door of the cage if I even pick up the wax worm tub!!!!

I'm not really sure how to ween him off them and back onto the more nutritious stuff without starving him... Any ideas??

Cheers

take away all food for a few days,(chameleons can go a few days w/o food). then, try to feed him locusts. locusts taste better.

its really not that bad.
Chams can be particularly fussy, but make him go without for a 24-48 hours and he'll soon switch back.

I have two mellers, both love locust. One wont even look at mealworms but loves dubias and the other wont look at dubias but loves mealworms.
