Flightless curly wing flys are not! We have been sitting with fly swatters all week. They are everywhere!:D:eek::eek:

LOL!! I know exactly what U mean. They do escape from you pretty easy!!
When ever I have them 4 my chams, they are all over the house because they find ways to escape the cages.
I have a fly swatter in every room

P.S. the things we do for our chams!!!

I know the feeling... I bought both flightless AND flighted (They are about 2x the size of the flightless ones) and the cats absolutely love it! Us not so much.... believe it or not, I'm having more problems with the flightless ones flying away than the flighted ones! At least the chams and cats love them, so it's not bad in the end!

So much for the 'flightless' part :D
My BB's get loose in the house but are very weak flier's and usually easy
to swat or sometimes catch and put them back in the cage to be eaten :p

It sounds like you guys are getting multi generation cultures of flightless fruit flies.

When you get true flightless flies they only have the tiny bulb like things. As each generation reproduces they start to produce more developed wings. Eventually you have flies with almost normal wings that are in fact able to fly.

I can't believe I've just rescued one from being nuked in the microwave. Why did I do that:confused:

I think they mean curly winged house flies. They are fairly common in Europe/UK. Not so much in the US though.
