Flex Seal liquid rubber

Has anyone used this in their enclosures? I bought a large metal ornamental birdcage from Home Goods which I'd love to put in Ivy's enclosure, but it will need sealing to protect it from water damage. I'm guessing some sort of polycrylic sealant would be better but wanted to know if anyone else has used Flex Seal. And I love their ad where they replace the bottom of a boat with a screen door sprayed with Flex Seal ...

It looks like once it dries there are no further fumes, but I'm not sure. Maybe I'd be better off going to Home Depot and getting the polycrylic sealant.

I'm a little unsure of how you're intending to use it. Are you trying to coat the metal of the birdcage to protect from oxidation?

I'm not positive about Flex Seal, but I do know that there are several manufacturers of paintable and possibly sprayable pond liner which claim to be animal safe. There are several posts on monsterfishkeepers.com in which it has been successfully used.

I'm not sure about "Flex Seal" as far as being animal safe. But there are a few manufacturers of rubberized pond seal/liner which are supposed to be no VOC. A number of members on monsterfishkeepers.com have created custom tanks with this product and have had no problems.

You could also look into polyurethane. I'm not sure if it adheres to metal though.
