Fittonia's Safe?

anyone know if fittonia's are safe for a cham's enclosure? I know they do particularly well in a terrarium environment. So that is a plus for them and they come in several varieties but it mostly boils down to leaf coloring and vein patterns. I have tried to google and research them for chams but the few references I came up with left me with questions. One especially since it also listed pine as being safe and I have always been under the impression otherwise.

I can't find any references to any problems from _Fittonia_, or any other plant in the family Acanthaceae. I do have most of the best books and publications available right now on plant poisonings, but I don't have everything. Seems like it would be OK, but I can't say its without risk.

Would you be keeping pygmies, or some other non-grazing sp. in your terrarium?

BTW, I also think this is one of the best plants for terrariums - I've grown it since the 70's. Lots of new forms have shown up recently. Check out Englemann's.

Thanks DGray,

I have a Panther that I was hoping to put one of my many varieties in with. I am familiar with Englemann's. :) Would you mind sharing the names of the a book or two that you that you have? I would like to have a few on hand.

Thanks again,
