Finding baby poop!

How on earth do you guys manage to find poop in your baby's cages? I don't want to freak Amy out and remove her plants every day to find it, but how the heck do I find such small poop in a large area? I don't want to leave poop in there any longer than necessary, but don't want to totally freak her out while poop-hunting either! :D I always spot cleaned Lily's poop as soon as I saw it, and I've even been known to catch them in a tissue as she dropped them!;)

I think for the first few days you will just have to properly scour the cage. Hopefully she will have a favourite 'poop plant' and then you will know where to look!

How's she settling in Tiff?

I just got an image in my head that should'nt be there while eatting lunch. Tiff you crack me up.:D

My little ones droppings rarely made it to the bottom, since they were so small. I would often find them stuck on a leaf or vine. Hope that helps, happy errm Hunting!:p

I just found if I could catch her in the act - she did get that look on her face, then it was easier than cleaning it off the plants, etc!;) Sorry if I put you off your lunch Jay!:D Lunchtime was ages ago! It's nearly bedtime over here!

Found some!

YAY!! :D I found some poop!! Amy's dropped one in the same place for 3 days running now! I did resort to moving one plant and having a good look on the leaves, but I think I was expecting the poop to be a little smaller than it is! At least I know that both ends are working as they should!:D

That is why I used fake vines/leaves in Norman's baby cage. So I could take them out and clean them proper like :)

Im having the same probs with Peanut and her poops, though she does seem use the same pathos leaves more :D Which is handy

Tiff you could do it the way I do. Just have more babies in each cage. I seem to have a s**t load of poop every day.:D

Sounds like you are still hapy with little Amy, everything going ok?

That's so funny, Laurie! :D I bet you don't have any problem finding baby poop?! Amy is settling in just fine. I'll PM you later!

ROFL Di, did you wipe its butt too? :D

Emma makes a good point, mine has a particular plant for pooping in, makes it easy.
I dont know what kind of cage you have it in, but maybe you could get a floor area size peice of pale cream shadecloth or similar, this would 'highlight' the poo, making it easier to see.
When homer was still small, he developed a habit of every morning, coming down to the lowest point of a branch in one corner and kindof 'hanging over' to poo. same place, same time every day. Hopefully your new baby will do so also. :)
