depends on the sp.
Some are, some aren't. Stick with _Ficus benjamina_ or _F. alii_, also known as _F. macdougalii_.
Some like _F. lyrata_ are probably dangerously poisonous if eaten in quantity, or over a long period of time.
No reason to take any unneeded risks. Benjaminas are really easy if you have good light. Stick with the tried and true.
