Ficus Tree isn't doing so well

So, I've had a wonderful umbrella plant in my cage before I moved. I got rid of the plant as it would have been difficult to make the trip with us and I spent most of my excess energy making sure my pets were taken care of during the move and not some plant. Anyway, after getting out here and setting up my cham's cage, I put a ficus in there (that was naturally fertilized - I was so very picky and ended up spending about $80 on just a nice plant, pot and soil!!!). My ficus just doesn't look good. My umbrella did so amazing in the cham's cage but the ficus is just dwindling. Ofcourse, I know ficus can be fussy when first being transpotted and put into a new location. Does it just take them time to thrive? It's not like I have many places in the cham's cage to put it. It's right there in the center like you would typically see. I want to atleast see if I can make it look better. It has a lot of green but much of the leaves fell off etc... If I can't fix it I'd like some ideas on other plants that are easy to maintain. I'll post pictures a bit later. I'm just so sad that it's not doing as well as I'd have liked.

I use Ficus Benjamin quite often. They seem to do better outdoors. When I keep them indoors they last a good two months then begin to drop leaves. I would only imagine its because outdoors i'm watering them more thoroughly and they get more sunlight, whereas indoors, they only get limited UVB from my bulb and less watering with my automatic sprayer. I should probably re pot them with some fresh soil and a bigger pot. I'm sure that would help lol

You could try elevating it so it is closer to your lights or as Nursemaid said upgrade you lights. They are very light greedy.

I've had the opposite, my ficus do great, but my umbrella plants haven't. I agree about the light statement. Once I added some pro plant bulbs, the ficus went crazy! So crazy in fact, it has been robbing the lower level plants of light, even my pothos suffers from lack of light. Basically, I have to do heavy weekly pruning to keep everything happy. The ficus has grown very strong, and creates many surfaces for my chameleon to safely traverse.
