ficus help !! please

I've had a ficus in my cage for a year and have never seen a berry... What color are these berries?

It's very uncommon for indoor ficus trees (That aren't in their natural habitat) to sprout berries. Not all variants of the ficus have berries, but some do. From what I have learned in my research (I wanted to make sure that my plants were fine for my chams) is that the berries are indeed poisonous to animals, although I haven't found any information regarding chams specifically, but I would not risk it.

Did you buy it with berries or did they grow them in your care? :D If you grew them, congrats! I've read that it's fairly hard to do ;)

Also, if you could post a picture of the plant, it would probably calm a few minds in knowing whether or not it truly IS a ficus plant and not something else that was simply sold as a ficus...

Ficus sp. contain furcocumarins and some other toxins. There are few cases which describe reptiles eating high amount of ficus leaves or other parts and resulting in sickness. If your chameleon does eat regularly from its ficus, I would replace it with eatable safe plants (Calystegia, Hibiscus, Tropaeolum...).

But before... we should be sure you definitely mean a ficus and no other plant family.

you can also provide other safe veg. that he can eat.
once i did that, minion lost interest in ficus,
although he still loves him some hibiscus!

here is the ficus

I've never seen a Ficus tree do that. Very interesting. I also have no idea if they are toxic or not. I'm also surprised your cham is eating them.

Its figs not berries! My gma grows figs all the time was gunna use her fog tree for my cage but went with an amstel mini king. Its a cross from benjamina and amstel king.. gives stronger branches and doesnt drop leaves from environment change as easily
