Ficus and hibiscus

Do ficus and hibiscus grow fast or do they grow slow like a tree . because I'm going to need a plant that grows fast cause my Cham that im getting likes to eat plants said the owner

I think they grow pretty slow, at my house they dont really grow at all, more like die

I have seen fuschia on several safe lists (but have not seen many people make reference to it). Fuchsias grow pretty dang fast.
