How old does a female chameleon have to be to lay eggs? My chameleon is 10 months should I start putting some dirt for her?

Alphakenc I prefer a 5 gallons bucket with organic playsand inside the bucket around 8 to 10 inches deep.what about u?

What's the best way to set up a laying bin? I thought soil would be just fine as long as it doesn't have any fertilizers. Would you all advise me on this?

I dont have a female, I was just gonna offer some advice if she didnt know lol I have heard playsand frequently though

She is very thin, looks small for 10 months. What does she weigh? Have you had her checked for parasites? How much does she eat? She still has immature coloration, which is pretty rare for a healthy 10 month veil chameleon. @Trace

No worries guys,some people prefer soil n some other prefer playsand and there people even like 50/50 mix,alphakenc say it all depending on ur cham as long u make the laying bin correctly by putting right amount of water in the soil or sand without having trouble for ur female cham to dig a tunnel and stay in shape no collapsing,then that will be ur laying bin project.

Thanks...does he look healthy? He is still super nervous around me so its hard to see him eat. I let the crickets free roam and he has pooped quite a bit...urate is really white

best pics I have...his black and white pic is from 3 weeks ago and as u can see he was really stressed...the other pic is more recent but camera on phone sucks...the flash created the white glare

ya i see him drink all the time and hes def pooping...lol im just paranoid cuz i never see him eat

If u find his poop daily then I can assure you he is eating while u not there.

Hard to tell without a reference to size, but looks way too small to be 10 months. IMO
