Female About to Lay Eggs?

We have a female ambilobe chameleon that has been pacing the enclosure and has gotten much rounder. We tried putting her in a bucket with some dirt but she was only focused on getting out. Just wondering what I should do. This is my first time doing this so other tips for the future would be helpful as well.

Can you put in opaque container at least 12" deep x 12" x 8" full of moist washed playsand in her cage and leave it there? This will give her a place to dig to show you that she's ready to lay the eggs.
