Female 8 month old panther - broken rear leg

Looking for information on what people have done with broken limbs.

I talked to one of the vets I work with - suggested xrays to determine bone density. However, the fracture is very proximal so splinting it can just lead to a more distal fracture during the healing process. I was thinking of just using some vet wrap to help support the leg, plus add liquid calcium to the diet.

She is supplemented with calcium (with and without D3 as with all my other chameleons), she gets crickets, hornworms, superworms. Trying to get a discoid roach colony going as they are more nutritional feeders than crickets.

Any and all information is appreciated - Dayna (ferretinmyshoes) any help from a vet perspective?

Thanks!

Alejandro
