Feeding

So my make veiled is 4-4 1/2 months old, he was 2 months when i got him. First i was feeding him about 6-8 crickets morning and night, then sized it down to 4 crickets morning and night. The crickets are 1/2" ones. I was just wondering at what age can i just feed him once a day instead of twice a day?

He needs to eat as much as he can right now mine is also about 4 months old he's eating about 15 1/2 a day so I would put more in his home for him to hunt and if there is extra before bed you can remove them so they don't bite him while he's sleeping. You can also try hornworms I just ordered some. If you can't get all of them out just hang some kale or some apple in the cage it's ok for him to eat and will keep the crickets from biting. :) Maybe he has slowed down due to size? How big is he? And or he may be about to shed then tend to slow eating around that time I would wait until he is mature to feed less.

Well, as he gets older, he will start to eat a bit less because he isn't growing quite so much. You will probably know the right time to feed him only once a day. I started feeding mine every other day when she was about 8 months old, so just keep that age in mind, because it is at that point when they basically reach adulthood. At about 5 months, I think you can ease off the feeding a bit. A little less food once a day, and then when 8 mo. rolls around, bring it to every other day. Maybe just base your feeding plans off of @Kristen99 because you have a similarly aged chameleon, and @Kristen99 has a sound feeding plan for Waldo's age. You should be good to go! Good luck! Also, 4 months is about when my female slowed down, but to be honest, females are always hungry. :p
