feeding help

I would say he is 2 - 2.5. He looks a lot like my little guy.

try free ranging. The movements of crickets might help his appetite.

I agree with Dodolah try free ranging small 1/4 not pinhead crickets. If you could get you hands on some fruit flys he would love those too.

I could have sworn I posted here last night and my posts are gone!

Kat, you're just going crazy. You dreamt you posted on this thread.:p

No, not really. pantherkid2 had 2 identical threads going. One of the administrators must have deleted one of the threads. It was gone sometime last evening.

I think that he is a little to big to be eating fruit flys, but would probably like some houseflies though.

My almost three month old will eat them as a snack.. These are not the small ones from Petco or petssmart: I give him crickets in the morning . Then in the evening. I place some small horn worms and like 20 -30 fruitflys. He has a good time hunting them down. They may not have much nutritional value but it is good exercise in hunting for him and stimulates his eating.

I do agree with the houseflys .. I just hate chasing them down if they get out of the cage.

Don't use the html code.
use the direct link code and insert image.
Then you'll have the image showed up in the post.

this is somemore pics...

Pantherkid, what did you copy and paste. did you click on the insert image icon and paste from photobucket? once you copy from photobucket you just need to paste it in, you dont need to click the img icon. if you are unsure instead of clicking submit click the preview to see if you got it right. dont worry it takes time to get used to.

Do you have a clear cover over the bulb on your 5.0 light? i am not certain but i hear that the UVB cant penetrate these plastic covers, i have the same light fixture and i just popped off the clear cover.

i would try the free roaming crix idea, then if that doesnt work you could always get a tub and put him in there, or you could even just put him in the tub to eat and them keep him in the cage still.

He looks to be ~3mo old. Each shed he should start revealing more and more colors.... The cage looks alright, but as already suggested some of the vines should be removed and live plants should be added, like pathos vine, schefflera, or ficus, to increase humidity.

Good good! I don't even know why I recommended a cup in his cage since i never used one when my panther was in his baby cage. You should definitely continue to do that then, and don't hand feed him until he is older and knows and trusts you more. Congratulations on the achievement!
