I see no reason about selling your Xbox. It has a huge library of games (including the online options with friends...). And yep, with the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, you can get access to hundreds of games for a monthly fee.
I understand that you were addicted to gaming, but that doesn't mean that you have to give it up altogether)) You can still play games in moderation and enjoy them without letting them take over your life.
What has helped me to overcome this addiction is setting clear limits on how much time I spend gaming each day and - very important and effective - taking breaks every hour or so to get up and move around.
Try also avoiding gaming late at night, and make sure to spend time with your family and friends, and engage in other activities that you enjoy.
P.S. I know about options like talking to a therapist or counselor, or joining a support group for people with gaming addiction, but I am sure a lot of people can deal independently with it.
