false chameleons

my local rep centre has 'false chameleons' for sale & I just wondered if they have relevance to this forum. From what I can see, they have straight tails as opposed to curly ones & they have clearly defined toes rather than typical chameleon 'mittens'. Are they actually closely related to chameleons or is the name purely based on the googly, point-everywhere eyes? I'm intrigued cos I've never heard of false chameleons.
