Escaped chameleon found 6 weeks later

OK, here's my story:
We had a 1.5 yo veiled. He escaped thru the open door. All we saw on our security cameras is him crossing the backyard towards our next door neighbor (my sister in law), and there's no fence between our yards.
I ran around the neighborhood for about 4 hours, even once it got dark, with headlight. But no luck...
Then in a few days my wife saw a falcon that was ripping someone with similar to chameleon colors, but she didn't see a tale.
So, we suggested that was our pure Kelvin.
We gave up, and 5 days later we ordered a new baby panther, Spider.
He leaves in Kelvin's cage now (we had 2 chams, ordered 1 and received 2 in the mail).
It's been 6 weeks since we lost our Kelvin...

Today my wife called me and said that the chameleon is probably still alive and lives at my sister's in law huge tree (about 40' wide, 20' tall), cause they found loose chameleon skin under the tree.
I took the headlight, and climbed that tree and, believe me or not, 30 min later I found him on about 17' height at the almost end of a branch.

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE, BUT IT'S TRUE!!!

Now we have 3 chameleons!!!!!!!!! :):):)

My only concern - it's been 55 in the night for about 5 days, a week after he escaped, but mostly it was still worm (We live in Palmdale, CA, and today is 1st of October). He lost weight, probably dehydrated and his tongue is really slow - I fed him 2 super worms and 2 Dubia roaches.
He never drank water - only took some green leaves. I sprinkled him with a water and now he's asleep at our big artificial tree.

Any advise on getting him recovered are welcome.

Wow that's incredible! Very happy you found him. He is likely very dehydrated and maybe a little in shock because of the temperature. Make sure you have him drink as much as possible, give him lots of feeders with high moisture (hornworms) and hopefully he'll be back to tip top shape soon!

That is friggin awesome lols. Lucks on your side! Poor little guy had a really long vacation give him a breather must have been quite an adventure. I like to think something like Milo & Otis might of happend....

Great.

I've had two escape chams. First one I never found, and since I live in MD where the winter gets really cold I assume he's dead, if he survived that long. The other was snatch by a bird just feet from where I stood.

He's likely lost weight as food doesn't come as easy when they have to go looking for it. Since Veiled's are from the middle east, I doubt the cooler night time temp really did any major damage as it gets pretty cool there at night, despite the daytime being hot.

Oh my lord Id lose my **** if a bird swooped in for my cham out of nowhere O_O

55°f is easily survivable by him, as they can see even lower temps in nature. Just keep feeding and hydrating.

Fantastic story! I'm still holding out hope that I can find a veiled that my husband lost when he took a plant out of the outdoor cage she was in and left the door open... Right beside her cage and with a branch that reached her cage is a 50' tall oak with a spread as large as most people's back yards.

The temps won't faze him a bit. They are from the mountains in the south west Arabian Peninsula and it gets down to freezing in some of their range in the winter.

Hydration is the big issue. Give him lots of long showers. Put him on a plant in your shower and run a body-temperature shower and let it bounce off the walls, not the chameleon. You want a mist.

If you have an automatic mister run it for a half and hour at a time. Do this for several days.

Great news!
