im still awaiting my new mesh enclosure(24x24x36) for my full grown female veiled, and as its taller than what she has right now
would i have to use a higher watt bulb? she currently uses a 60w bask bulb and 13w repti-glow 5.0

cheers folks

:)

to be honest im not sure, its a reptibreeze cage if that helps but i am going to attach clear perspex on the sides and back to help keep heat and humidity

This is my opinion but just get a tempature meter and temp her basking spots and change the basking bulb to the appopriate heat that the meter says(60 watt 80 100watt etc) as for the 5.0 Im gonna use compact some people dont like them but im just gonna use it while shes a baby but if your using the tube ones use them forever at 5.0 dont change 10.0 is for desert reptiles like bearded dragons. If you have a 5.0 compact bulb for her id change it to a tube 5.0 its what im going to do once he moves to a 36 high cage because the others are good but the tubes have been shown to have a longer range so im going to change merly for more light output to reach the whole cage.

For the rest play around with diffrent bulb wattages and do that and never no matter what wheather compact or tubing use 10.0 bulbs 5.0 are good unless you get a 6ft high cage with 4 foot trees than maybe but yea serously id stick with a 5.0 :)

you should still be able to use the 60 watt bulb for heat. I have a 2x2x4' tall enclosure and the 60 watt bulb I was using kept the temps great, I hung the light from the ceiling (with a screw in hook) and then I could adjust the heat by raising or lowering the height of the light. I dont even have a separate heat bulb now, I have my 5.0 tube and a hood with 2 26watt 6500k cfls (for my hibiscus and plants) that keep the temps perfect for my female veiled. hope that helps.
