Eating too much a bad thing?

I have 5-6 month old Panther chameleon. The last few days he has been eating a ton. Today he ate about 20 small dubia roaches and 2 super worms. I've read that you let juveniles eat as much as they want. However, that seems to be alot. Is this a problem?

I think it's fine for a Cham of that age to eat that much. He may be having a growth spurt. I believe they slow down once adults. Kath.

well, I feed my baby cham 10 crickets a day. I feel like he might be able to eat more, but I always thought overfeeding would be bad so id limit him. Is THAT a bad thing? When do I know to stop if I just keep feading him more. I hand feed as my mesh is too large and crickets will escape, so dumping a bunch in and letting him eat as much as he wants is not an option. Thnaks in advance

Thanks for the replies. Also, I should stop feeding him around mid day so that he has time to digest the food by lights out, correct?

babies have to eat as much as they can, at least twice a day.

try cup feeding.

twice a day would require one being in the morning and one at night. wouldn't that be bad as theyd digest at night?

No, twice a day could also mean one in the morning at say 8 am, and one again at say 1 PM, if lights go off at lets say 6 PM.

sorry for misunderstanding. I know that would be ideal, but I meant if schedule doesn't match up. If I make one of those milk cup feeder thingies, would I just put the full days supply in there?

I have his light schedule set for 6-6. I feed him around 6:30 and put around 15 small roaches in his cup. Until lately, he would still have 1 or 2 left at the end of the day. The last couple of days, all 15 are gone by 9:00 or so. I add 5-6 more and he eats those by noon. Today I gave him a couple of super worms because he was still looking in the cup around 1:00. With his lights going out at 6:00, I didn't want to keep feeding him into the afternoon. Tomorrow, I'll put 20 or 25 roaches in his cup in the morning and see how that goes.
