I ended up trying out the auto ship feature for super worms and underestimated how much and how often I actually needed them. I ran out of BSFL and he won't eat Dubia roaches so i have been feeding him super worms pretty consistently. I've read the warnings of other people and now i am experiencing it myself, he has become dependent on the super worms. I need to be serious about him eating these dubia roaches now because he needs the varied diet. How long should i hold food back from him for him to start looking at these dubias as food instead of garbage lol. I feel like has going through another growth spurt and don't want him to be without food too much, but something needs to change. Thanks in advance anyone.

How old is your chameleon?

Generally, they can go a couple weeks without food. I wouldn’t stress too much unless it gets close to around 2 weeks. My bet is your cham will break before then and eat the roaches, crickets or something besides the supers.

Hes around 7-9 months?? I never knew a specific age, but he was about 2 months old when I rescued him in April.

Yeah I wouldn’t stress to much. Don’t offer supers anymore, he will eventually break and eat something else. Have you tried crickets at all? Roaches have been hit and miss for me but all my chams have always ate crickets. Either way, just a game of chicken to be played. You’ll win eventually. lol

He does like crickets and BSFL, i just gotta order some more now, last one i got they were mostly dead upon arrival and had a ton of extra supers. Thank you for the advice lol i feel a bit better.
