Thought I'd just share, this morning I seen my 4mo panther chomping on the leaves of his baby tear plant. I know that is probably not uncommon supposedly they are native to madagascar and that's why I got them. Read here on the forums of a members devouring a plant. Anyways this is first time I've seen him doing it, was a bit late on the feeding and misting this morning so maybe he was hungry or thirsty and supplemented that way. But I watched him go from his basking right down to the plant and I just watched him confused but it had looked like he knew exactly whaat he was doing

Chew on leaves and branches. phenomenon. Some say trying to get minerals lacking in diet, some say aligning jaw, etc... No one really knows. Most people associate it with 'teenage' years of chams. Just make sure no poisonous plants, bark, or other foreign objects can be ingested. Most seem to outgrow grow it, by one year old or a little later. Very popular activity with panthers.

Yea was never a worry just interesting. I did buy the baby tears to help humidity in the small enclosure he's currently in as well for the intention to have him lunch which he finally did. I'll keep an eye out for any purpose there objects in case he does get curious
