My chameleon every time I let him out in our free range plants. He goes down to the dirt and eats something. I have only seen him do this once in his cage. What do you recommend I do to fix the problem?
Veileds will eat dirt.. Typically we put 1inch or larger river rock over the dirt so they can't get to it.
What are your supplements and what is the schedule you are using for them? They can go after dirt if their supplementation is off.
Way, way more. Have you researched panther chameleons? Proper supplements is one of the absolutely most important things to get right. Your chameleon will have a very short life with what you're doing.... You're not giving him any D3 at all? You need three types of supplements.
(1) calcium without D3 at EVERY FEEDING
(2) calcium with vitamin D3 once every other week
(3) multivitamin once every other week
Thank you I must of mis understood when I read about the calcium! Will update today! Im not that far in the chameleon Breeder podcast yet! Thank you all for quick response!
