Today my mom and me were talking about my chameleon and she had a few questions that made me think. First was if my Cham will eat fruits? Iv never heard of kinyongia doing this but if he did would it be safe?? Second was the lunch meat my Cham will eat anything I place in the palm of my hand could I safely give him a peace of super thin cut ham?? Pm answers please.

I have heard that some chams can be tempted to eat very thin pieces of strawberry and apple, however I wouldn't see why anyone would want to even try to get a cham to eat ham which is processed with all kinds of things. Normally there is salt and preservatives in it. Chams eat bugs, not chunks of meat. I wouldn't offer them ham.

Yeah, animal protein is generally considered bad for them because relatively small amounts can case gout, not to mention the salt and preservatives. They will sometimes eat leaves and fruits, but my Veileds never seemed very keen. Mine have eaten some strawberries and some mashed up pear though, but sometimes show no interest even in that.......

Yeah I thought about the ham soon after posting that. So should I try giving my Cham a piece of banna or apple I mean kinyongia is not listed for vegetables but I would think they would not hurt him.
