im getting my veiled cham on monday and i want some advice on misting.

i work 4 days out of 7 a week and am gone from 11am til 11pm for those 4 days. my plan is to mist him first thing when i get up (around 6-7am) and again before i leave the house (about 10.30am) with a dripper running the whole day.

i'll have his lights etc on a timer so he'll be asleep before i get home so i dont want to mist him again when i get home late after work incase it disturbs him.

is that adequate misting/hydration for him. i dont really want to invest £100+ on an expensive mister unless i have to, the guy in the pet shop was clearly just trying to make a sale so i thought i'd ask you here. i'll obviously do what i have to for a healthy pet but just don't want to be buying expensive kit if what im doing is fine anyway.

I would be afraid his humidity would drop too low in the late afternoon under the lights. Also the cage should dry out between mistings and it will for sure stay wet with two misting in the mornings and a dripper going all day. I mainly mist to keep the humidity up and it also gives them a chance to wash out their eyes. Potho plants are great to help keep the humidity up but not for all day. I would recommend the started Mistking for $99.00. I believe that you will find it a valuable investment.

that was my worry mostly for his humidity levels.

his tank is wooden viv exotic arboreal setup, the one with the 2 sets of sliding doors, one large and one small at the top. my plan is to replace the bottom ones entirely with mesh for better ventilation but the glass at the top will help keep in the heat and humidity...i live in the UK and its cold even when its summer here most of the time.

ive bought a large hibiscus and ficus plant to put in his cage which will help with the humidity, combined with the glass and dripper i think this might be adequate. i'll experiement for a few days guaging the humidy with the electronic gadget. if it drops too low i'll buy the mistking.

I dont have one, but I do have 2 humidifiers going 24/7/365 plus I have a motorized 5gal sprayer and manual dripping system. ;)

I also have room air filtration and ionization system.
