What is wrong with your animal to make you believe it is deficient? Either product is packed with excellent ingredients. Is it possible there could be another problem? Regardless, here is a complete guaranteed analysis of DinoFuel and Raptor tested by a New Jersey Feed Lab:

We're not sure as to what is wrong with Zeus yet. With the left eye shutting from what I thought was unshed skin and then both eyes alternating being shut; first thoughts are vitamin A. The vet asked if there was nutrition info on the Dino Fuel and I knew this would be the place to find it. He seemed to become lazy today so I decided to get his bask warmer. This seemed to help a bit, but still too early to tell if eyes are responding.

Do you gut load with fresh vegetables, nuts seeds, etc.? What and how many kinds of bugs are you feeding? Also, do you offer a multivitamin of any kind? Vitamin A deficiencies could cause eye problems. However, many other things can as well. Hopefully your vet can get your chameleon on the right track. Best of luck to you!

I only use the Dino Fuel and Bug Burger. I thought that would be enough. Although the roaches I only feed West Coast Roach Chow and water crystals. I just recently started feeding the Dubias. I had also been using Phoenix worms, but ran out and waiting on more. he seems to be loving his butterworms lately, picking them above all others in the feeder cup. A couple weeks ago however, he was loving his super worms. I have lobsters and hissers that I'm still breeding and waiting on higher numbers. Might introduce lobsters today . I was trying to replace crickets w roaches, but they just don't quite get the same response. I went just last week w no crickets. Brought them back a few days ago. Dusted w Dino Fuel and gut loaded on BB. Ive been taking the feeders for the next day that have been on BB, and separating to feed only DF for the night with another dust in the morning. I use a 100W Powersun, and just raised the bask all the way to 95 F. I also have a 24" Reptisun 10.0. I know I've heard this can be too much, but we've had it for about four months now and he seems to only want to sit under it and as close as he can get. He loves it. Also, shouldn't the power have depleted quite a bit by this point? I do believe the 4 mth Powersun may be dimming as well. We had to come within less than a ft to get bask to 95F, and that's in an aluminum reptibreeze, which I thought was supposed to get a lot warmer than the mesh I had.

I'm not too great with computers, but I can try. Great improvement over the past couple of hours. The sun came out in full force pushing it up to about 76 F, and Zeus is soaking it up. I'm going to stay outside with him until I notice he's trying to shade. He is one happy Cham at the moment. When I get inside ill try to link.

Temps now up to 86. Geez, I've been praying for this for him , and it looks as if my prayers have been answered. It was 64 and overcast this morning. What are the odds?

The combo between the 100w powersun and the reptisun 10.0 is most likely the cause for the eye closing. I am not sure of your cham's age or species, but this setup is too much light, even if he is sitting directly under it. He may like it, but it is doing damage over time.

I suggest an incadescent spotlight for basking, 75w. The basking spot for a panther should be around 90 degrees. I would raise the 10.0 a few inches off of the top of the cage as well. Once the problem subsides, you can lower the 10.0 back to on top of the screen, and keep an eye on him.

Good luck!

He's about ten months. He was able to remove the shed from his eye on a tree while we're outside. We've been out her about an hr and a half, and I think ill give him another 30. He seems to be responding great. I think I will turn off the UVB for the time being. As long as it stays beautiful like this I can finally keep him outside in the cage I bought for h before it got cold. He closed his eyes for a little while after being outside for about 45 min. It was after he was rubbing his shed off and I think he may have been cleaning his eyes from the looks of him rotating them around in sockets. I held him with head in shade an body in sunlight. After about half an hr he started opening again, and I replaced him in his tree.

So today he was awake by 9 AM. Better than yesterday. Although by 11 he was closing his eyes and sitting out of the light. Turned the 10.0 off. Hoping this will help eyes. Also took fecal sample to vet to get analyzed. Well see what they find out soon.
