Here I was all excited about Repticon coming to Denver since the local shows are pretty small compared to the Texas shows. I figured a big show would bring in better vendors in addition to the locals. I was wrong! There were seriously like 10 vendors total, most of whom only had supplies and no reptiles to speak of. And the reptiles that were there were 90% ball pythons and leopard geckos. Lame. I was really hoping for some pygmies so I could pick them out and avoid shipping. The only thing worth looking at was a little peacock day gecko. I considered it for a bit but my hubby wouldn't have been pleased by another new addition right now.
Vivarium Art terrariums were definitely the highlight. They make some of the coolest cages, all completely self contained and lightweight! They're pricey but worth it imo. They have a big cham cage now that hangs that I'd love to put on my balcony! And some of the smaller ones have a waterfall feature that doesn't actually pool at the bottom so I think it'd be great for pygmies.
All in all though, pretty lame. No love in Colorado for the herps.
I want to go to the California mega shows!
