Decided to Wait a little while before another purchase

Hello,

Just wanted to chat and let you know that I have decided to hold off on getting another chameleon. I have decided to purchase a panther this next time and am saving up some money for it and some cash for a vet visit if necessary. I am hoping to find an older panther (1 year or older). I will probably be ready within the next 6 weeks or so. In the meantime I am selling my big cage 24 x 24x 48. I plan to get the next smaller size for my panther. I am enjoying watching forum members getting their new cham. They are so awesome.

You might want to keep your big cage for your panther (especially if it's male.) 2x2x4 cages are recommended for adult male panthers.

Not trying to tell you what to do here, but if you plan on getting a panther you may as well keep the big cage because you will have to upgrade to that size when it gets bigger anyways. Adults take large cages like the size you have. You will just have to turn around a buy one again!!!! Just my opinion!!!

Thanks Pssh and Carol5208. I guess I will keep the cage. I was going to lose money on it by selling it anyway. Thank you for your comments.

Good luck with your new little guy when you get him. What local are you considering? Btw its always nice to see someone plan ahead, wait a little longer, save money, especially for a vet if necessary. Shows you really care for your pets and that your not just jumping into something cause it looks cool. So kudos to you :)

Keep us posted Debbie! Yes, I agree with Carol chances are you would have to buy the same size big cage you were planning to sell when your panther baby reached 4 to 6 months old so you might as well just hold onto it... it is the most cost effective thing for you in the "long run".

We look forward to your future adventures! When you are ready maybe you can grab a deal from our classified section here I see some nice Cham's there up for grabs from time to time.
:p

She is getting one that is 12+ months, so it will be put to use right away.

Thanks Gensen and Mr. Wilson. Yes as pssh said I am hoping(big time) to get one that is one year old or older. I really don't care what local, because I like them all :D. Just going to take my time and save my money. Other than the chameleon I have everything I need so when the right one comes along I'll be ready.
