I remember once at a dog show, waiting for Best In Show, the terrier group winner (a Bull Terrier) grabbing the Lhasa Apso and just not letting go. I think people broke their hands punching this dog in the head. They twisted his testicles, but he just closed his eyes and found his Zen place. They finally got him to let go when they stuck lit cigarettes up his nose. (Lhasa Aspso recovered.)

I was most surprised by the sawing action and really feared he would saw a chunk off. And my hand still hurts.

omg I cannot imagine twisting a dogs testicles! But I guess if he had my dog in his mouth, I might think differently! i am glad the other dog recovered. I am going to assume he did not win in the Terrier Group!

This was back in the 80's when the terrier people would "spar" in the ring. That's when you let your dog get aggressive with the other dogs in the ring--they are basically allowing them to fight, except the leash is holding them back. They stand up really nice, all excited, and just look great. Well, the stupid handler of the Fox Terrier let his dog spar with the Bull Terrier. In fact, most of the handles sparred with the Bull Terrier. Maybe they were trying to make him uncomfortable so he wouldn't win the group. Nobody with a bullie breed will EVER allow their dogs to spar. The Bull Terrier was being baited by all those other dogs for the whole group judging. He ignored them, but it must have really bothered him. He won the group, and best in show was right after. Waiting to go in, the Non Sporting Group winner, the Lhasa Apso, barked at the Bull Terrier. It was his last straw. He grabbed that poor little Lhasa and would not let go. You should have seen the broken hands of the person he was pummeling the Bull Terrier's head. The bull terrier just closed his eyes and took it. They are a really tough breed--a high threshold for pain and very stoic.

jpowell86, here's a better picture of him. I don't know what he saw that excited him--he's off in a corner but he saw something that got him excited. I just took this now.

And for brownie64, one of my wild caught quads who was an adult male on import will not bite for anything. He had an abscess cut open and drained by the vet with no anesthetic or anything. He only gaped a few times during the procedure which wasn't exactly quick and just let the vet operate on him. It was very sad because he turned and looked me right in the eye with his big, soft, soulful eyes that only a quad/gracilior has, almost begging me to save him. Of course he wasn't communicating with me--he's a chameleon after all--but that's what it felt like at the time. He's one I absolutely adore.View attachment 148886[

Here he is, the dragon ShenLong. This is fairly soon after import. He was pretty banged up.
