Crickets...or no Crickets??

I have a juvenile veiled chameleon and a panther chameleon that I recently adopted. (they are in seperate houses) I woke up EARLY this am to find that my panther was fast asleep while my veiled was wide awake. She (in my opinion looked really tired..but I could just be crazy) She ususally sleeps thru the night but last night before I went to bed I accidentally dumped WAY too many crickets in her cage and was unable to fish them all back out. I have read that you are not supposed to leave more crickets in the cage than the animal will eat in 30 mintues and that leaving crickets in the cage overnight will bother the chameleon but then I read in "The Chameleon Handbook" to always keep crickets in the cage as junvenile chameleons need to eat round the clock. Any thoughts or suggestions? I want to make sure that my little ones live a long and happy life.

how many do u think are left the problem is they have been known to chew on your cham in there sleep. terrible but true. id sy do what you gotta do take all your plants out till u get it down to only a couple left in there and maybe try cup or milk crate feeders to make sure this dont happen again. i can tell you i have never left crix in there overnight and my guy survived i feed him everymorning as early as i can wake up which is like 10 his lights come on at 830 youll get it just takes awhile to figure it out the forums helped me a ton!

to add a little to that i do feed twice a day i think most recomend it but i try not to feed later then 4 or 5 they need their lights for proper diagestion.

they don't eat rounf the clock because they sleep at night, just like we do. So the answer is no! how old is your juvi? Depending on age, I would only put the appropriate amount in, maybe 1/2 in the morning and half in the afternoon. Do not put any in at night, as they will not eat them
