My chameleon has been wobbly lately and at the moment we are getting a fecal done, he was extra wobbly today and fell. He stunned himself a little and so then he fell again, i made sure to put him in a small enclosure so he cant fall but idk what to do, hes malnourished but im giving him extra calcium and stuff to help him perk up a little. Im worried he might pass because recently hes been very weak, literally a day ago he was so much stronger

Chameleon Info:

• Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?

• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
• Location - Where are you geographically located?

If he is in this condition he is on the edge. Do we know how the condition started or how long he has been malnourished? You can not just feed a severely malnourished animal. Have you seen a vet ? he will likely need more specific foods for a bit. Not trying to scare you but when they start falling like that their odds are not good.

Definitely experienced vet ASAP, tell them it is an emergency (which it is) so you’ll get seen quicker!

I have no idea. But if the vet isn’t experienced with with chameleons, they’ll need to find another one with experience ASAP

yes, im still working on it but it looks much better

So sorry your guy isn’t doing too well. I’m a new keeper so I won’t give my personal input, but I had a very similar situation to you with my baby. If you’re interested you might look through my thread I posted last night and seeing what people had to say to me might give you some extra pointers on what to do. I hope your little guy pulls through!

If you’re interested you might look through my thread I posted last night and seeing what people had to say to me might give you some extra pointers on what to do. I hope your little guy pulls through!

he has been have problems like these for a while but now they are all of a sudden getting much worse, he has gone to the vet and is getting a food mixture that is better for sick animals. Hes looking very weak so im thinking of the worst, he is completely black from the stress of falling, he was fine before that.

no, they did not do xrays because i turned them down and i dont think that there are any problems with his bones (after all he gets the calcium he should get now and his joints look fine so im pretty sure its not mbd) however he might now because of that fall. And yes he did get the blood work and they said that his blood is pretty much fine

I’m not trying to alarm you but this usually means it’s something serious and @skywes13 cham did not make it sadly

There is probably something wrong with his bones if he’s falling off branches

well, they have worked on chameleons before but its not there speciality, they have lots of knowledge on them (way more than me) and they seemed to give good feed back on my last chameleon

they work with reptiles and are used to them but chameleons are more rare for them so they have less experience
