Cough

My nosy Faly is a little over a year old and this morning he was making a noise that I can only describe as a cough. There was no obstruction of his airway as he had just woke up and I could see ne mucus that would show signs of a URI.
My furnace was down for a couple of weeks but I kept an electric heater near my cages to keep ambient temps up.
Could it be a cold?
