Chameleon gone pale?

Hi, my i got my nosy faly panther chameleon about a week ago, and i woke up this morning to him being very pale, which concerned me due to the fact that he is usually the colour in the second photo. I was wondering what the cause of this could be? He also hasn’t been moving around much nor eating. The temperature is about 30C where he’s bathing, and the humidity is about 60%, if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi and welcome to the forum! I don’t see anything to be concerned about. 😁 his coloration is perfectly fine. He’s very cute! 30c is a little high for a basking temperature though. It should be more around 26-27c

In agreement - I'd put money down you've got a female panther. Both colors are normal for female chams - they're going to change colors based on mood, how hot they are, etc. If she's basking at 30C, I'd say that's on the cusp of too warm. For females especially, you don't wanna bust 26-27C. If you DO have a female (which I really think you do), you'll want to look into a lay bin as well. If you're interested, you should fill out the husbandry sheet for some feedback to make sure you've got everything squared away, and give your cham the best life possible!

  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
