Concerned with eyes...

I took Cammy to the vet just a couple of hours ago although i am pretty sure he is not trained in Chameleons that much since he did not try to do anything while i was there. Cammy keeps one of his eye closed... and also sometimes both of his eyes now. I'm just concerned as I'm sure any of these guys get sick, the turn around is very slim. I am trying to do the best here as far as taking good care of him but being a new Cham owner its just been really tough and stressful. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what i can do so he can open his eyes. I know most of you are thinking "He doesn't like camera and hands" but he actually doesn't mind it. If i happen to catch him up close maybe you guys would see exactly what is going on. I really don't know if its the lighting, the cage ( most likely the husbandry) which the vet has said multiple times.

In conclusion of the crappy vet visit which i feel like i've gotten no help from except hat he gave me some eye wash and some ointment that's about it. If you guys know anything else or have gone through the same thing as i have and have something be successful and willing to share that would be great. I adore Cammy he has a very sweet personality. He has never tried biting me, very passive for a male veiled chameleon.

Also included a photo of his husbandry so you guys can see if everything looks good.
As you can see the humidity drops very quickly since its screen caged. Any tips/ suggestions would be great.

he looks a little thin. are you sure he is a male? Is there a spur on the back of his back feed? What kind of lighting do you use.

I know all of this could be stressful.

Yes, he is a male. The reptile owner said he was and i do see the spur on the back of his feet. For basking bulb i use " 50W clear bright" and for the UVB, i use Zilla 24" Strip light:120v, 15w, 60hz. Ive been trying to feed him more crickets but he doesnt take them.

@Surferchick It looks like he has something in his right eye. You can see it. That bulging of his eye is him trying to clean it.

Do you have an automatic mister? They need a mister for more things than just humidity and hydration--they need a fine foggy mist to be able to clean their eyes.

If you don't have a mister, set him up on a plant in a shower and have body temperature water spraying against the walls and bouncing off giving him a misty foggy shower. Do that several times a day for probably 15 minutes a session.

Then buy yourself a good automatic mister. Get a good one that won't break when the reservoir runs dry. MistKing sells a good one.

Hand misting isn't as good as a proper automatic misting system. The droplets that come out of the mist heads are much smaller and finer. The animals don't mind being under the mist. A hand mister hits them too hard and most dive for cover.

@jajeanpierre Thank you for the information. I have reptirain system at the moment and just ordered the fogger off of amazon. Since i live in dry hot climate area, i figured both are needed (Mist System and a fogger) Please correct me if i am wrong. For hand misting, just been using warm water since he freaks out which im sure because its just room temperature for him. I just keep making sure he is moist in hopes that whatever is in his eyes, it gets out. I know your not suppose to turn off UVB light but i was reading on someone else's post that if you turn off the UVB light for only a couple days and if he gets better than least you know that was contributing to the issue. I will make sure he has the proper UVB lighting since I do not want him to develop MBD. I am also feeding crickets with carrots, hopefully the Vitamin A will give him a boost. I do not want him to have Vitamin Toxicity either so doing all these things are quite tricky.
