I got a 10 month old veiled chameleon that don't get dark or change colors I feed him 7 large crickets a day he's very active and doesn't raise any other concerns
Not true ryu all the male veiled chameleons I've seen have bright bars I'm just wondering if he's younger then what I was told or if I was told wrong that he'll start getting colors at 8 months when I was told he was 8 months when I got him close to 2 months ago
Hey Timmin89,
I think you have a young Cham yet. It looks like 5 months to me. The wild colors come with age. He'll be popin soon , be patient. Veilds are awesome. Maybe you have a female? Does he have spurs on his back legs. Can you post any pics of that area?
LOL. That's funny I've never had a male not go all territorial when seeing himself in the mirror.
I looked at your other post on the sex of the cham, and I must confess myself bewildered. If that is a spur which "I'm not saying it isn't", it would have to be the smallest on I have ever seen on a cham of this size. It looks like from the pic it could be just a coloration in the skin. I really can't be sure, but if I were a betting man I would place my money on female. But then I never was any good at gambling that's why I don't bet.
I don't see a spur I'm going with female. I would keep an eye on him/her because if he is in deed a she it will become gravid soon, and need a laying ben whether you breed her or not.
