color change question???

What is the normal color for chams?? My Rango is always dark and brown looking. I see pics and such of other veilds and they're bright green and yellow. Is that normal?? I know its their mood that sets it, so is he not happy??

It is partly mood, and partly thermoregulation (dark colours absorb heat better)
It could be something like not having enough foliage to hide in. Or it could be moving to a new home and not settled in yet......
The brighter yellows and turquoises seen on some Veileds are mostly to do with genetics though

He has a huge ficus in his cage, well not supper huge. I tried keeping habiscus plants in there for him since he loves those but they always end up dying, maybe he neds more space?? He is in a large screen cage right now. The only time I ever see him bright colors is at night. But I didn't know that colors could be a genetic thing. Maybe he just has more brown?
