What is safe to use to clean my glass terrianium? Can I use mr clean magic eraser?

I'd not, but it may be safe. I use vinegar and a scrub brush, then water.

Yeah....who knows what's in that magic eraser...if you can pull your chameleon out of the enclosure for awhile, then that magic eraser might be a good tool, but I think you'd want to rinse the enclosure with vinegar once and then water over and over an over....

Right now i use vingar and water and then rinse that with soapy water and dry it.

Magic Eraser is just Melamine Foam. Completely non-toxic and safe.

I looked it up to be sure apparently you can get nasty abrasive burns if you rub it on yourself (wow imagine an abrasive can give abrasion burns amazing! end sarcasm) Also if you eat it it can block the GI tract as it doesn't break down and is abrasive...

Don't eat it or rub it on your face you're probably fine. Here is a good article on how they work to maybe remove some of the mystery:

Keep in mind this is a terrible disinfectant and would likely just rub bacteria and other nasties around. Used in conjunction with Vinegar, peroxide, bleach, or steam it is probably fine.

My concern with using them in a chameleon enclosure is that they sometimes "fray". I'd be particularly concerned about that if I was using it in association with something like vinegar or bleach which might well speed up the fraying process. Magic eraser debris in my chameleon's cage just doesn't strike me as a safe thing.

Thanks for that link though! How on earth did they decide to take insulation and turn it into a cleaning product? I bet the guy that thought of that got a pretty bonus!

I agree that making sure the enclosure is wiped thoroughly afterwards to remove any of the "fray" would be very prudent if one does decide to use this product. I would think it is still safer than a lot of the chemicals used to remove hard water stains though.

I would hope that whoever had this idea has been compensated very well those things work awesome!
