Chief's new free range

Well, its a more temporary, quickly thrown together one. Weekend are my only free time to do stuff. So I ran to lowes and picked up a $12 trellis, two pothos, and picked up 3 vines from petsmart. Strung it all up, hooked a vine end to a vine inside his cage and sat back... 20 minutes later he eased out.

I did it this way so that he'll realize that opening the door and coming out of his cage is a good thing. He doesn't run away from me or anything when I'm inside the cage (unless I move too fast), but he gets nervous/panicky when hes outside his cage, especially if you move around with him. I'm hoping this will help him.

He seems to enjoy it!

That looks great! The red on that boy is amazing! Can you get a picture of it from a distance so I can get an idea of how you put it together? I need to do a free range for my guys.

Here ya go Melissa! I'm kinda embarrassed from all the crap in that corner... But the trellis is leaning against the back of a chair and the Pothos is just hooked onto it.

Can you believe this was him? (November 2013)

Thank you everyone for the nice compliments! I wish I could have recorded the 'pouty' face I got when his lights clicked off (and he was trying to go to sleep in his free range) when I was trying to scoop him up out of his 'getting ready to go to sleep' position and back into his cage.

I love it! I never thought of using the trellis as the support! It looks good, and is perfect! Thank you for the picture, that helps a lot.

I desperately wanted to get him out of his cage. And from other free ranges I've seen on here that I'd love to do, being in a rental house prevents me from doing so.

So, this set up is 'rental' friendly :)
