Cham's first fly encounter!

So I swung by the local Petco and petsmart, in the petco, I noticed some "Calci-Worms" so I looked in side and there was about 10 BSF's crawling out at me. So I got excited and bought a tub, brought it home, popped it in the fridge for two minutes to calm the flies. Threw 4 in the bottom of the cage and watched them start to fly around as they began to warm up. My little 3 month old Nosy Be got more excited than I've ever seen him, he ran across the cage and shot one in the blink of an eye, and the second 15 seconds later. He clearly loves them. Does anyone know how nutritious these are, also, can they be dusted without hindering flight?

That's pretty cool. I will have to check the tubs next time I go to petco. I know that bb flies cannot fly well after dusting. you are not going to cause any harm by not dusting your BSFs. I would let them go and give him the chance to hunt them down.

Maybe I'll try dusting them very lightly, then. I think if they take well to dusting, they may be a viable staple. I think I might have to order one of the big tubs online for him now. :)
