Don't get me started...
When I went to get my first jacksons in 94 the pet store owner tole me I didn't want to own one because "they freak out so much they won't eat and starve to death."
So "they're only look at animals that you can't stare at because it's going to kill them... "
"You can't handle a chameleon because it will kill them due to stress".
"Panthers and veilds will not drink out of standing water... a waterfall is best.. you need to have a waterfall and a bubble mister"
"misting twice a day is how you get a chameleon enough water".
You can't house more than one animal in the same cage because they'll die.
"You know, they don't make great pets because they die after 3 months"
"ZooMed 10.0 UV tubes are the best available on the market for your chameleons... they're even better with a reflector hood because they reach all the way down to the bottom of the cage." (yes, I was actually told that by a wholesaler)
"they burry their eggs in potting soil"
"Panther chameleons are too expensive and should be cheaper (like $50 bucks each)"
"I'm going to start breeding panther chameleons and make lots of money"
"they all die for no reason".
and those are the ones right off the top of my head.
