I’ve come to the conclusion that my boi is just fine, I’m pretty sure I just needed to adjust his heat lamp since he’s grown a bit since i put him in this new enclosure. I have a pc fan on the way to suck the air out and create the chimney affect. Thank you to everyone’s input I appreciate yall

It is a freaky thing to see, knowing all the bad things it can potentially signal.
Happy he's fine! This comes up a bit here though, chameleons opening their mouth while under the heat. It is a good thing to be concerned about and ask about, though. It's important to know all the bad things it could be, but it's also just as important to become tuned with their more normal behaviors too.

My mind went to the worst thing possible and I stressed myself out a bit lmao. This page has thought me so much and I’m probably gonna continue to keep learning as well. So helpful to be able to bounce questions off of people and gain good information from people without judgement or malice. I see on other Reddit forums that some people are so fast to be rude and judge people rather than help educate others and foster better understanding.

Full disclosure, I also had this moment for a few days with Littlefoot within the first month I had her. My heart sank and I did a deep dive in this forum. It makes you realize how sensitive they are to their environment. There's so much knowledge in here, it's really been a great source to learn from. Chameleonaire's lucky he landed into such good hands.
