Agreed! Best to figure out all the things you want to have in the enclosure prior to having the animal. Saves money in the long run!!!

Good to hear... just was a little worried when you were not sure what kind of cham it was. Though I think care of veildes and Panthers are pretty much the same (veildes a little more tolerant) many of the other species need different temps and higher humidity.

Just re-read your original post... said a "new" chameleon, not "first". is this your first? If so I suggest sticking to Panthers and Veildes.

The research is quite possibly the most important part. I researched veileds for 6 months before I actually bought one and wrote a 9 page packet all about their husbandry. It definitely wasnt enough info, so I kept researching and now my girl is happy and healthy.
