Chameleon with mouth open

For some reason while he is only under his basking lamp he has his mouth open and he is not weazing or coughing at all so I'm confused plus I think it is a 50 watt halogen bulb

He is too hot. Either lower his basking branch or raise the basking lamp. It should be at least 8 inches away from his basking point. Also, is he properly hydrated?
