Chameleon sleeping in

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone's chameleon has ever "slept in". Kamish's lights come on at 8AM (and off at 8pm) and he usually comes up to bask within 10-15 minutes after they turn on in the morning. However, this morning, I couldn't see him anywhere. It's 10:45 and I decided to try and see where he was in the cage and put him at the top so he could warm up before I fed him today.

Turns out, he was down at the bottom in his pothos plant (he normally sleeps in his schefflera). He still had his sleep colors on, so I'm wondering if it was just so dark that he didn't realize it was time to get up? What do you guys think?

His eyes were open when I looked, but I was looking for a while before I found him down in the pothos so I could've waken him up...he's finally coming out now, but I just thought it was really weird that he would wait almost three hours after his lights to come on to bask..

Has anything changed lately? Are you sure he didn't bask between 8 and 10? Sometimes my female will go back down into one of her plants between a few leaves and just chill for a while and come back out later.

Nope, everything is the same...and yes, I looked at about 8:20 and didn't see him-which I thought was weird-so I would look occasionally and like I said, I didn't even know where he was until I opened the cage to see if something was wrong..

Right now he is really dark and puffed up trying to soak in the heat, but other than that nothing seems to be wrong.

Okay, I think he's all warm and toasty now..back to his normal colors-if not more colorful than normal-and he's hungry!! Back to his normal self I guess :) Just wanted to sleep in on the weekend!
