Chameleon Rescued, boy or girl?

So i got a call yesterday from a friend of mine. She had taken a chameleon from her friend because she could see the poor thing wasn't being taken care of properly. So she called to get me to come over and help her get the little guy on track.

It looks great for how it was treated. And really friendly, seemed to want to jump into my hands whenever we opened the cage. I went with her to the pet store to get some food, supplements and other supplies. So I'm thinking its going to do really good.

Its still is in a cruddy exco terra aquarium, but only for the next week.

From first look it looks like a girl. But I'm no pro. Just wondering what the rest of you thought??? (sorry for the cruddy pics. Just took them with my phone)

Aside from the animal not having the obvious spur (which only male calyptratus have) her coloration and tail base are definitely female.
She looks to be mature, make sure you provide her with a laying bin.

How can you tell that she is mature?? (and are we talking mature as in full grown or mature as in could lay eggs??)
They believe her to be 4 months old.

As far as I can tell from your pictures she looks about the size of my female veiled when I first got her....5 months old. She could have eggs at 5 months. I'd set up a laying bin for her just in case. Be sure to read the Raising a female veiled. http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/2007/12/keeping-female-veiled.html (that Brad told you about) It tells you all about feeding less and keeping the temps lower to keep her from having eggs or at least make the clutch smaller. BTW She's very pretty!!! Jann
