Chameleon Registry?

Is there a way out there for cham breeders to document their animals bloodlines?

When selling, they will say it - who's sire is what, dam's sire and so on.

Shouldn't there be some kind of registry, ie TICA for cats and APHA or AQHA for horses? Could be something like ICC - International Chameleon Club, or CCA, Chameleon Club of America.

Starting papers for the chameleons, with linage and photos. I have several examples I can post of dog, cat and horse papers... Names would be 'Chameleon Business Name' and Name (if sold to new business, 'of New Business Name,' for example, Screameleons Drake. If Drake were sold to a new breeder, he would then become Screamealons Drake of Komeleons. If sold to a non-breeder, then the name would remain Screameleons Drake.

Just a thought, I know it would be a TON of work, but it may be worth it in the long run. Linage won't get forgotten, mixed up, and there can be more control over pure bred locales such as Nosy Falys, Mitsios and others who are tough to come by. I would be happy to help get this started!

There used to be a registry for this purpose. It took a lot of time to set up and maintain. But unfortunately too many people resisted its existence and didn't find value in it so it was dissolved. I think it's a shame because it would be a great resource to utilize. You can always make your own lineage certificates when you sell babies.
