chameleon puffing up at spray bottle

quite often when i spray my chameleon's cage he will climb up my arm and sit on my shoulder, and recently sometimes he puffs up and even lunges at the spray bottle when i spray its really strange. has anyone else experienced this with their chams ?

Our Ambilobe juvenile also scares off when I hand mist. I'm using the trigger mister and not the pressurized one. I'm thinking he doesn't like the constant triggering motion of my fingers. I find that if I slowly pull the trigger or only pull 1/4 of the way and do small spurts,, he is more tolerant.

Same with mine, the slower I spray, the happier they are, especially the younger ones. Be sure not to spray your cham directly as well.

Slow and fine is the way forward. Trigger sprayers are rubbish for Chams - they almost all hate them. Get a pressurised hand sprayer or like a Mistking system. My Veileds didn't like the first sprayer I got, so I didn't like it
It took a little while, but now my Male likes Sir-Mists-A-Lot, and my female tolerates it through the mesh..........

The sudden sprays of water seem to scare them. My new panther was always startled by the hand misting at first but he seems to have gotten accustomed to it. It doesn't startle him as much anymore.
